History of Wild Ginger

Inspired by the fast paced eateries of New York City, Wild Ginger Café in Ridgefield, opened in 2000, offering an "Express" alternative to more formal dining environments by bringing an urban beat to New England. Wild Ginger is a sister restaurant of Hunan Taste & Ching's Table both in New Canaan, Hunan Cafe in Wilton, and Penang Grill in Greenwich. The restaurants are all owned by Alan and Jing Lee who got their start almost twenty years ago co-owning a small eatery in Park Slope Brooklyn. They are veterans of the restaurant business. Each of the restaurants reflects Alan's idea to make sure the interior design always reflects the menu. Jeff Qiu, a restaurateur from Manhattan, adds a crucial element to the constitution of Wild Ginger's food culture with his experience opening Japanese restaurants.

Going North on Rt. 35 - Follow to CVS on the left hand side. Wild Ginger Cafe is in the CVS Parking Lot.

From Danbury and points North:
Int. 84 south/west or Int. 84 north/east to Route 7 - Ridgefield/Norwalk exit. Follow Rt. 7 to Rt. 35 (look for Belzoni Grill Restaurant). Make a right onto Rt. 35 (Danbury Rd.). Follow to CVS on the right hand side. Wild Ginger Cafe is in the CVS Parking Lot.

From Norwalk, Westport and Int.95:
Rt.7 North to Rt. 102 in Branchville. Make a left onto Rt. 102 & follow all the way to the end. Make a right onto Rt. 35. Follow to CVS on the left hand side. Wild Ginger Cafe is in the CVS Parking Lot.

From Wilton & New Canaan:
Rt. 33 or Rt. 106 to Rt. 35. Follow to CVS on the left hand side. Wild Ginger Cafe is in the CVS Parking Lot.

From Fairfield:
Rt. 57 North to Rt. 107. Make a left and follow to Rt. 7. Make a right. Follow to Rt. 102 and make a left. Follow all the way to the end. Make a right onto Rt. 35. Follow to CVS on the left hand side. Wild Ginger Cafe is in the CVS Parking Lot.

Merritt Parkway Northbound:
Exit 41/Rt. 33 to Rt. 7. Follow Rt. 7 North to Rt. 102 in Branchville. Make a left onto Rt. 102 & follow all the way to the end. Make a right onto Rt. 35. Follow to CVS on the left hand side. Wild Ginger Cafe is in the CVS Parking Lot.

Merritt Parkway Southbound:
Exit 42/Rt. 57 North. Follow Rt. 57 North to Rt. 107. Make a left and follow to Rt. 7. Make a right. Follow to Rt. 102 and make a left. Follow all the way to the end. Make a right onto Rt. 35. Follow to CVS on the left hand side. Wild Ginger Cafe is in the CVS Parking Lot.
