Ridgefield Enjoys a Zesty New
Restaurant and Gathering Place
Father and daughter, Joe and Colleen
Osorio, along with Uncle Juan
Carlos Ruiz, began introducing their
Nuevo Latino fare on the specials
menus at their popular Villa del Sol
Mexican restaurants (Mt Kisco and
Westport) to see what their loyal
customers thought of this more
refined cuisine. “We were looking to
create another dining experience
that built upon our Mexican heritage
while taking it to the next level,”
says Colleen, “We began with more
seafood and meat dishes on our
specials list and before we knew it,
people were asking for more.”

And more is what Coco
Bongos offers. As with Villa del
Sol, Coco Bongos is vibrant and
energizing with sherbet color walls,
mood lighting, large tile flooring,
a green granite bar, and a palm tree
in the center of it all with
starlight above. The cuisine is just
as transporting as the atmosphere.
This publicist’s favorites include:
duck confit empanada served with
tropical fruit chutney and foie gras,
spicy salmon tartare
with cilantro oil and plantain
croutons,
grilled adobo
marinated hanger steak,
pumpkin seed crusted
corvina fillet with malanga puree,
and classic paella with clams,
shrimp, New Zealand mussels,
scallops, chicken, Spanish chorizo,
and saffron Valencia rice. |
