Redding, West Redding and Redding
Ridge in Fairfield County won't be the place for you to go shopping but, it will
be the place for you to enjoy Connecticut's natural surroundings. The town
centers between them have a couple of small shops, 3 post offices, a town hall
and five restaurants in all. The Mark Twain Library which is located at the
intersection of Rt. 53 and Diamond Hill Road was founded in 1908 by Samuel
Clemens - Mark Twain. The original collection of books were his own. The Library
offers weekly reading clubs for adults and students, nearly 38,000 books, CDs,
videos, records and more. There a a couple of parks - Collins P. Huntington
State Park, Putnam Park and Topstone Park where you can swim, fish, hike or
enjoy some of the park's activities. A drive through the main routes in Redding,
Rt. 57, Rt. 58, Rt.107 & Rt. 53 take you through the Saugatuck Reservoir,
country roads, beautiful homes with acres of property, rolling meadows and
fields and miles of untouched natural beauty.
