New Haven Restaurants, Restaurant Menus & Dining

New Haven, Ct. was settled in 1638 and is one of the largest cities of Connecticut. The early settlers thought the harbor in New Haven had great possibilities in shipping and commerce. At that time oystering became an important industry and in recent years has enjoyed a re-awakening. Having one of the largest bulk cargo harbors on the East Coast, New Haven supplies 30% of the oysters in Connecticut. Future plans include a high speed ferry connecting Long Island to New Haven. Inland the city is well known for Yale University, Yale-New Haven Hospital, The Yale Bowl, New Haven Coliseum, Toad's Place, its popular theatres - Long Wharf and Shubert Theatre are two of them, the Peabody Museum and much more. A visit to the Owl Shop one of the countries oldest original cigar shops is also a great place to find cigar & tobacco accessories, cutlery, and some hard to find music boxes and gift items.
