Len Gulino has been active in
several aspects of the wine industry for almost twenty years. Currently on the wine staff at Harrys Wine
and Liquor in Fairfield he has also provided countless wine recommendations to customers
at several other fine wine stores in Fairfield county.
A strong advocate of the drink
the wine you like philosophy, Len encourages students in his wine tasting classes to
be open-minded to all wines and he receives great satisfaction when the wine light
bulb goes off for a first-time wine taster. He
conducts introductory and advanced classes at Yale and Sacred Heart Universities as well as with Milford
Adult Education. Professional and social
groups also benefit
from classes and events that he
conducts privately upon appointment.
With degrees in English and Business Len wrote a weekly wine column for the Elm City
Newspapers and has appeared several times on the Fairfield County Cablevision program
The Exchange to taste and discuss wines with the hosts, Becky and David.
Having recently transitioned from corporate computer systems management to
a full-time wine position, Len is putting to great use the formal wine training and
certification that he received from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, the Rare
Wine Company of Sonoma, and the Society of Wine Educators. To
further his knowledge of wines he travels to the major wine regions of Europe, South
America, and California along with fellow members of the Tasters Guild chapter of New
Haven.
