Fairfield, Connecticut is another wealthy Fairfield County town and is approximately 1 hour from New York City. It is a spot for many summer residents and weekenders, enjoying its coastal homes and cottages or their homes in the country section of Fairfield. Here you will see many horses in the backyards of these fine homes. You can enjoy one of its two public beaches, Jennings or Penfield Beach, or if you like freshwater instead you can go to Lake Mohegan which is found off Black Rock Turnpike. There are also several golf courses, Fairchild Wheeler, H. Smith Richardson, South Pine Creek (Par Three). Another event popular in Fairfield is the annual Dogwood Festival.
