Derby is located along the banks of the Housatonic River between Shelton and
Seymour along Rt. 8. It is also near Indian Wells State Park and the Osbornedale
State Park. Adjacent to the Osbornedale State Park is the Osborne Homestead
Museum which is the former estate of Frances Osborne-Kellogg. It is an elegant
1850 colonial revival home and listed on the National Register of Historic
Places. The Kellogg Environmental Center also located at 500 Hawthorne Ave. has
