    Rhode Island, RI Attractions

Even though Rhode Island is small... It has on its shoreline some of the biggest most gorgeous, irreplaceable, priceless historical mansions in all the states. These are the famous Newport Mansions. The architecture in these homes is something we will probably never see again in the home building industry, not in one home, no matter how much money someone has, These homes were quite often built by workers from Europe, the materials brought over from Europe, and the Owners, Designers and Architects worked for years to create the final product. The magnitude of the detail in these mansions is unfathomable, even when you see it for your own eyes, marble columns, floors and stairways, gold leaf trim, leather, Italian tiles of all kinds, the iron works designs on railings so beautiful and detailed you just can’t imagine how they were ever created. installation of these finish trims pieces sometimes 2 or 3 stories up in the air… pictures in the mansions reveal the tale of how they were built.. the scaffolding .. the hundreds of workers all there creating some of the most dramatic homes we have in the United States. One room of these homes can often be larger than some of our entire homes. "The Breakers" is the largest of all of them. As it sits gracefully over looking the ocean in all its grandeur you can’t help but try to imagine living in this grand estate. There is beauty inside in every corner and crevice, there is beauty on its outside, there is beauty in where it stands and beauty in how it stands. The Greenwich Mansions built today all have some of the beauty and detail, but it is not in every room in every house so dramatically as what you see in these Newport Beauties… There is also the Marble House, Rosecliffe, Chateau-sur-Mer, The Elms, Isaac Bell House, Hunter House, Kingscote, Chepstow and the Green Animals, all of which have a story, all of which have the beauty and grandeur of a time that we will only know by their presence and the stories they have left behind, it was called the “Gilded Age”. For more information visithttp://www.newportmansions.orgThe Rhode Island Beaches are some of the most popular destinations in New England. There is 400 miles of ocean in Rhode Island where. Misquamicut is probably the most often heard of. People in Connecticut go there quite often when they want to get to the ocean. Block Island is a very popular vacation spot. An 11 square mile vacation resort, it is reachable only by boat or plane and is about an hour trip on the ferry, approximately 30 minutes on the passenger high speed Catamaran and about 20 minute flight by plane. Of course if you want the city life, the nite life and the downtown activities, Providence is the place to go. There are theatres, museums, a planetarium and the Rogers Park Zoo. http://www.visitrhodeisland.com
