    From points east, take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit 2. From the ramp, make a right onto Route 20 West. Follow Route 20 West through the center of Lee where Route 20 West becomes Main Street. Travel the length of Main Street to the Chambery Inn. From points north and west, take Route 7 South to Route 20 East into Lee where Route 20 becomes Main Street. From points south, follow Route 7 North into Stockbridge. Take a right onto Route 102 and follow to Route 20 West. Follow Route 20 West as above to Main Street in Lee. Albany and Hartford Airports are approximately an hour and a half drive; Boston airport is approximately a two to two and a half hour drive.

  • A broad range of recreational activities are available. Most are no more than a fifteen minute drive from the Chambery with few more than forty-five minutes from the Inn's front door. Hiking is available at Bartholomews Cobble in Ashley Falls; Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in nearby Lenox and Jericho Valley in Williamstown. Sections of the Appalachian Trail wend through the Berkshires and the many state parks provide other excellent hiking opportunities. Llama hikes are availabe through Berkshire Mountain Llama Hikes in Lee. Fishing, boating and swimming are natural Berkshire pastimes at Laurel Lake and Goose Pond in Lee, Stockbridge Bowl in Stockbridge; Center and Yokum Ponds in Becket, and Onota and Pontoosuc Lakes in Pittsfield, to name a few natural area waterways. Sunny Banks Ranch in Becket, Berkshire Horseback Adventures and Undermountain Farm, both in Lenox, provide opportunities for horseback riding. Scenic roadways throughout the area are ideal for cycling enthusiasts. Golfing is available at the Egremont Country Club in Egremont; Bas Ridge Golf Club in Hinsdale; Skyline Country Club in Lanesboro; and Cranwell Golf Club in Lenox. Cross-country and downhill skiing and snowboarding are popular pastimes at Catamount, Butternut, Jiminy Peak, Bucksteep Manor and Otis Ridge. Handball, racquetball and tennis are also available at area athletic facilities throughout the county.

Visit Nauset Beach in Orleans or enjoy a drink at the Beachcomber at the Cahoon Hollow Beach in Wellfleet, both on the ocean side. Catch the sunset in Dennis on the bayside or take a drive to Race Point in Provincetown and listen to the roar of the ocean surf. Shop till you drop while in "P" Town, take an exciting whale watch out of the harbor or simply just stay in town and people watch!! Visit the monument in Provincetown where you can get absolutely spectacular views, but bring your climbing shoes, cause stairs are the only way up!!! Follow Rt. 28 for antiquing and quaint shopping while traveling to Woods Hole where you catch the ferry to Martha's Vineyard! You can go to either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. Arriving in Vineyard Haven you can visit the village where you will find the well known BLACK DOG Restaurant. Make sure you get a shirt!!! At Oak Bluffs you can visit the Flying Horses Carousel, the nation's oldest operating platform carousel, as well as a journey up Circuit Ave to shop and eat! Outside the main street in town, you will find the beautiful, brightly colored, gingerbread cottages. The "most perfectly preserved collection of Carpenter Gothic style architecture in the world". You can visit Edgartown, another quaint village with restaurants, boutiques, and the Wharf. You can sit and watch the boats and the comings and goings of Katama Bay. You can also get on the Ferry and go to Chappaquidick, sit on the beaches of Wasque Point or bring your fishing pole .. this is a favorite spot for blue fishing. Outside of Edgartown visit South beach, sunbath, swim or just sit and enjoy the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze. Traveling around the Island, your next stop could be Gay Head Cliffs where you are overlooking the ocean and the dunes. It is the most dramatic point on the island. At sunset visit Menemsha. Witness a spectacular, natural light show when the sun meets the ocean! Nantucket is smaller, but some feel it is quainter than Martha's Vineyard where sea captain's houses line the cobblestone streets.
