History of Barcelona Wine Bar:



Our newest Barcelona, opened in December of 2006, is our largest and most dramatic.  Winner of the New Haven Advocate’s “Best New Restaurant” and “Best Wine List,” Barcelona is located next to the Omni Hotel in downtown New Haven just steps from Yale University.  Here we have combined some of our favorite elements in a single location. 



A street-level lounge overlooks a dining bar area with a stone fireplace.  The sophisticated glass-and-steel dining room is framed by a 200-bottle refrigerated wine cellar.  The dramatic 80-seat private room is dominated by a 30-foot Spanish mural, and a 20-person Chef’s Table, fashioned from a single walnut tree, borders the busy open kitchen.

Maps | Directions:

I-95 Northbound - Exit 24. Go straight at light at end of ramp. At rotary stay left. Go under I95 bridge stay in middle lane go straight to stop sign. At stop bear left, then go right onto Black Rock Turnpike. Follow for 5 miles until you see Hi-Ho motel. Barcelona is in the Hi-Ho Motel on the right hand side.

I-95 Southbound - Exit 24. At the end of the ramp go right. Follow to light and make a left. Follow until split, go to right onto Black Rock Turnpike. Follow for 5 miles until you see Hi-Ho motel. Barcelona is in the Hi-Ho Motel on the right hand side.

Merritt Parkway Northbound - Exit 44. Take a left off the exit. Take a left at the light Go under Parkway bridge. Barcelona is in the Hi-Ho Motel on the right hand side.

Merritt Parkway Southbound - Exit 44. Take a left at the end of the ramp. At light go right onto Black Rock Turnpike. Barcelona is in the Hi-Ho Motel on the right hand side.
